Responsibilities
Assists in the planning and execution of Nigeria Import and Export in support of supply chain, projects and base operations.
Main Tasks
- Assists in generating commercial, shipping and export documentation related to flow of equipment and material.
- Oversee the dispatching, tracking and tracing of goods in transit, ensuring documentation retention per required standards
- Opens shipping files for all Imports and Exports of FMC and Customer owned equipment in compliance with government and FMC documentation retention policy requirements
- Maintains all shipping documentation files, manual and electronic to required FMC standard in a chronological order to ensure prompt responses to all material/shipping enquiries.
- Interfaces with approved Freight Forwarding Agent representative to ensure up to date Customs and Shipping Documentation and provides Status Reports on Documents per shipment as required.
- Liaises with the Material Handlers to ensure appropriate packing, labeling and markings of Packages.
- Review and research customer complaints and inquiries, including shipping and pricing issues, damage claims, QA claims, returns and over/under shipments. Provide recommendations to supervisor/management for solutions and claim settlement resolutions.
- Collects data from international operations/projects teams for preparation of weekly and/or periodic reports as needed
- Enforces local compliance procedures in alignment with corporate guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Provides Shipping and Customs Documentation to support "Load in" and "Load Out" operations.
- Ensures overall compliance with all Nigerian and International trade processes and procedures established and meets all regulatory requirements.
Skills And Requirements
- Preferably a Degree in International Trade, or BS.c, Logistics or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three to five years demonstrated experience in projects, scheduling, purchasing and materials with expertise in import/export issues, international logistics, customs/international trade and regulatory structures and concepts
- Must have an understanding of Nigerian Import/Export regulations.
